Refunds & Insurance Policy

1. Coverage for Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Packages

Warehouse:
Liability is limited to INR 5,000 per package for any item lost, stolen, or damaged while stored in yourDesiCart’s warehouse.

Transit (via DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc.):
Liability during international or domestic transit is determined by the carrier’s own insurance terms or limited liability coverage. No coverage for low cost services like DPD, Atlantic, Aramax, DTDC etc. 

Claim Requirements:

All claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery.
A complete, unedited package-opening video is required for each item.
False or fraudulent claims will incur a minimum charge of INR 750, plus any applicable investigation costs.
Refunds, if applicable, are processed within 15–20 business days.

2. Insurance & Liability

Air Shipments:
Coverage is limited by the Montreal/Warsaw Conventions, approximately USD 26 per kg.

Road (Cross-Border) Shipments:
Coverage is limited by CMR rules, approximately USD 14 per kg.

Exclusions & Restrictions:

Coverage not available for Cuba, North Korea, or Syria.
Limited coverage for inland/domestic transit in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other restricted regions.
yourDesiCart is not responsible for theft after doorstep delivery or for mis-delivery by local couriers.

4. Items Requested for Shipping but Missed Reaching Destination

If your items were requested for shipping and, for any reason, did not reach the intended destination, the following conditions apply:

Customs Confiscation or Removal:

If items are seized, confiscated, or destroyed by customs at either the source or destination, yourDesiCart or the carrier will not be responsible. No refunds are provided in such cases.

Missed Packing but Item Located in Warehouse:

If an item was mistakenly not packed by yourDesiCart staff but is still available in the warehouse, no refund will be issued. The user can:
– Request international shipping again (charges apply),
– Ship domestically within India, or
– Return the item to the original seller.

Missed Packing and Item Not Found After Search:

If yourDesiCart confirms that an item was missed during packing and cannot be located after an extensive warehouse search, a refund up to INR 5,000 will be issued under our limited liability policy.

Refunds are processed within 15–20 business days.

Incorrect or Incomplete Shipping Address:

If shipment fails due to a wrong or incomplete address provided by the user, no refund will be issued. Re-shipping can be arranged at additional cost once the parcel is returned (if retrievable).

Delivery Failures due to Consignee Unavailability:

If the consignee is unavailable or refuses to accept delivery, refunds do not apply. Re-delivery or return shipping can be arranged at user’s expense.


5. Additional Services

5.1 Personal Shopper

yourDesiCart assists in purchasing items from Indian online or offline stores.
We are not responsible for product quality, warranty, vendor errors, or fulfillment delays. Purchases depend on product and vendor availability.

Refunds:

Full refund if the order is canceled by the vendor or if items are not received by yourDesiCart.

Cancellations after order placement are not possible.

Received items may be returned to vendors through a Return Request (return fees apply).

5.2 Package Pickup Service

A Pickup Shipment includes all items consolidated, packaged, and/or invoiced together for courier handover.

yourDesiCart is not responsible for the quality or contents of such items.

Customer Responsibilities:

Properly seal, wrap, and label all packages.

Provide a complete item list and packing slip.

Ensure no prohibited items are included.

Handle any returns directly (charges apply).

Confirm correct delivery to yourDesiCart’s locker address.

Limited Liability:
Maximum liability for loss, theft, or damage is INR 5,000 or the item’s actual value, whichever is lower.
Refunds, if applicable, are processed within 15–20 business days.


5.3 Tailoring

Tailoring is based on customer-provided measurements and designs. While yourDesiCart and partner tailors strive to meet specifications, minor variations may occur.

Refunds are issued only if the final product deviates significantly from provided specifications or is visibly damaged.
Labor charges are non-refundable.
Refunds, if applicable, are processed within 15–20 business days.


5.4 Return & Refund Process

yourDesiCart facilitates returns but does not control vendor return policies. Most returns must be initiated before final delivery to the customer’s address.

Refund Handling:

Refunds from vendors may be held to settle outstanding service or shipping fees.

Any balance is refunded after deducting transaction fees, currency conversion, and exchange rate differences.

yourDesiCart is not responsible for lost, damaged, or mishandled return packages.

Non-Returnable Items:
If a seller refuses a return, customers may:

Ship the item to an alternate Indian address (additional cost),

Donate the item, or

Authorize yourDesiCart in writing to discard it.

Cancellations

If canceled before order initiation → Payment minus transaction fees is refunded.

If canceled after initiation → Refund depends on vendor approval or follows the return policy.

Refunds for cancellations, if applicable, will be processed within 15–20 business days.
